10-23-05 Construction

First day of what should have been major construction, but just like last year we are facing an unpredictable hurricane at the moment and that is dictating how much construction we can do. Rick and Nick built some walls inside the house (adding a very cool maze element to the funeral home) and we took care of the morgue freezer walls and painting the stripes on the tent. Originally we had planned to build the tent from scratch, but then got smart about it and instead hung canvas from a prefab canopy. Painting 80+ feet of canvas (varying from 9 to 12 feet in width) still takes a whole lot of time, good thing I had Sommer to help! We painted the canvas on the grass without any wood underneath to give us this great old texture on the paint, just the right feel for the type of circus we'll be running.
